My Confession to Amarillo and Potter/Randall County

When I meet people in Amarillo, they usually say, "Oh, I know you. You're the doctor I've seen in the newspaper ads and on tv. Well, I want to tell you a little more about me and why I do what I do. Years ago, in my hometown just an hour northwest of Amarillo, something happened that changed my life forever. You see, I had already decided to be a doctor. In fact, I wanted to be a neuro surgeon when I heard about a completely different kind of health care. What I had heard about was "Chiropractic," and how it was so successful for so many conditions. I studied anything I could get my hands on about it. Even though it was different from everything I had already been looking into about health and healing, it just made total sense to me. I know what I had to do; actually I knew what I was meant to do. I set my focus toward becoming a Chiropractor. It was a tough journey, but the best decision I have ever made.

** My confession is that I don't heal anyone. I never have. I don't treat or cure diseases. Here's how it works I make a specific spinal adjustment and the nervous system functions better. It's your body that does the healing. We have tremendous results. It's as simple as that.  

My very first experience that brought me into my first Chiropractic treatment personally.

I was an 8th grader at a track meet in between races and I was laying down in the field.  Out of nowhere one of my friends snuck up behind me and jumped on my lower back.  There was immediate pain in my lower back.  It hurt for about 20 minutes and then it began to let up.  I thought I was going to be ok and was able to finish the track meet.  The next morning was a different story.  I woke up with extreme lower back pain.  The kind of pain where someone else has to tie your shoes.  We went into the chiropractor that we had taken my little sister to. (If you have not heard this story, of how I was introduced to Chiropractic and ultimately why I became a Chiropractor I will make sure you hear this story at some point in our journey together.)  He did X-rays, found the problem and then started the process of getting adjusted.  That first adjustment was life changing for me.  My pain was immediately better.  I was sore, but I could walk without winching.  I continued treatment and still to this day I maintain a level of maintenance adjustments.

Since becoming a doctor, I have worked with more and more patients with different kinds of conditions such as headaches, migraines, chronic pain, neck pain, shoulder/arm pain, knee pain, whiplash from car accidents, backaches, numbness in hands or feet, athletic injuries.  We've seen patients get relief from ear infections, digestive problems, and I have worked with hundreds of patients with nutrition & weight loss.
